A friend of mine showed me the work of Kerry Kolenut last semester after hearing about the environmental portraits I was starting on. Her images have beautiful color. In her series Television she captures the subjects expression as they are viewing the television. Some of the people are so enveloped in the show it is ridiculous. Two of the ones I've posted picture children. The one in the kitchen especially catches my eye. It is so funny to me how common it is becoming to have a television included in your kitchen decor.

These images are all from Bill Owens book Suburbia. I have studied his images over the last year or so and have found his environmental portraits so intriguing. I love the way he captures the people in their natural setting and makes the viewer feel lie they know what the subject is thinking or feeling.
